Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 August 2026. This page explains what PDFtoSTL collects, what stays temporary, and how analytics and cookies work.
Who we are
PDFtoSTL is a browser-based tool that converts PDF pages into 3D-printable STL and 3MF files. Contact: support@pdftostl.com.
What we process
- Uploaded PDFs and generated meshes — processed on the server for conversion. Job data (including the mesh) is kept in server memory for about 30 minutes so you can preview, adjust cutouts, and download. It is then discarded. We do not permanently store your PDF or mesh files.
- Email address — when you claim a full-quality download (or sign up for updates), we store your email and marketing consent timestamp so we can send occasional product updates and deliver download keys.
- Optional feedback — quality ratings and free-text comments you submit at download time, used to improve the product.
- Hashed identifiers — a hash of your client IP (and sometimes a hash of the PDF) for sample-download throttling and audit trails. We do not store raw IP addresses in those records.
- Audit logs — operational records such as email, filename, and hashed IP for downloads and related admin actions.
Cookies and local storage
We use a small set of cookies and browser storage. Analytics cookies load only if you accept analytics in the consent banner.

Analytics
If you accept analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-ETCLG5ZCWC) to learn which pages are visited and approximate device/region information. Analytics is off by default: the consent banner sets Google Consent Mode to denied until you choose Accept. Rejecting analytics does not affect conversion or downloads.

You can change your choice anytime by clearing site data for this domain (which resets the banner) or by contacting us.
Email and marketing
Full-quality downloads currently require an email address and consent to receive occasional product updates. Optional feedback is stored separately for product improvement. To stop marketing email, reply to a message from us or email support@pdftostl.com and ask to unsubscribe.
Third parties
- Google — Analytics, only when you accept cookies.
- Email delivery — if configured, a mail provider sends download keys and product updates.
- PayPal — only if paid checkout is re-enabled; purchase flows may share payment-related data with PayPal.
- CDN scripts — the converter may load libraries (for example Three.js) from a public CDN to render the 3D preview in your browser.
Retention
- PDF / mesh job data: about 30 minutes in memory, then discarded.
- Email, consent, feedback, sample hashes, and audit logs: kept while needed to operate the service, prevent abuse, and improve the product, or until you ask us to delete what we can.
- Admin session cookie: up to 7 days or until logout.
- Analytics data: subject to Google Analytics retention settings when analytics is enabled.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold, or to object to marketing. Email support@pdftostl.com and we will help as far as we reasonably can.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you have seen the revised policy.
